Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

It just so happened that I had ice cream cones but ran out of ice cream..........after cooking dinner I decided to fix my three boys a little dessert. We made ice cream cone cupcakes.......... First we wrapped the top of a pan with aluminum foil, we cut small hole into the top then placed the cones in the holes for support. Next, we mixed the cake. Filled the cones almost to the top then baked 375 for 20 minutes.
Let cool then pipe icing on top add sprinkles and a gumball or cherry to top it off.
I had three happy little boys!!! Yum!!!!

Balloon Centerpieces

I really like this inexpensive idea of using balloons to make a dramatic impact on a party! This would be great for kids parties and many more. The possibilities are endless! Here is a few pictures of some balloon centerpieces that I like:  I will be trying to make some of these myself and see how they turn out.

Happy Popcorn Day

Here are a few of my favorite popcorn recipes:

Koolaid Popcorn:

2 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup margarine
2 pks. koolaid
1 tsp. soda

Boil the sugar, syrup, and margarine together for 3 minutes. Stir in soda and koolaid. Pour over 6 quarts of popcorn. Bake at 225*F for 45 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and break up immediately.

Butterfinger Popcorn Balls:

6 cups popped popcorn
3(2.1 oz.each)Nestle Butterfinger Candy Bars
1/4 cup(1/2 stick)butter or margarine
3 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows

Combine popcorn and chopped Butterfinger in large bowl. Melt butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in marshmallows. Heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Pour over popcorn mixtur; quickly toss to coat well. Spray hands with nonstick cooking spray. Form popcorn mixture into six 3" balls. Place on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

Nerds Popcorn:

8 cups popped popcorn
1 box Willy Wonka Nerds
1/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tbs. butter or margarine ( recommend Land -o-Lakes butter)
1 tbs. light corn syrup

Combine popcorn and Nerds in clean brown heavy-duty paper bag. Combine sugar, butter, and corn syrup in small saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute. Pour sugar mixture over popcorn; fold bag closed. Shake thoroughly to coat popcorn. Fast Paced Recipe! Move quickly once the sugar mixture has boiled, otherwise it starts to set and is difficult to coat popcorn.

Hope everyone enjoy's these recipes and has a Happy Popcorn Day!

Winnie the Pooh Day

January 18th is Winnie the Pooh day, the birthday of Winnie the Pooh's creator, A.A. Milne.
A.A. Milne created the character from Winnie the Pooh based on his son's stuffed animals ( Christopher Robin Milne). Christopher had named his bear after Winnie from the London Zoo.
That being said, I created a small dessert table for my three little boys to commemorate this day. Later, at bedtime we will finish our Winnie the Pooh day out with a bedtime story.
